This one-day in-person class on 24th February 2027 is for aromatherapists and healthcare professionals working in acute cancer care wishing to explore the core aspects of working in the specialised environment of acute oncology care.
It emphasises safe, effective and thoughtful practices combined with a robust evidence-based approach for accompanying the individual in their cancer journey.
A One-day in-person class with Rhiannon in London
Together with massage and reflexology, aromatherapy is one of the most longstanding and commonly proposed complementary therapy interventions in cancer settings worldwide.
The versatile nature of essential oils offers multiple benefits to patients, ranging from psychosocial support to management of specific symptoms, with a postive resulting impact on resiliency. Their implementation requires sound, evidence-based arguments together with safe practice.
The class assumes a level of basic aromatherapy knowledge and experience.
This engaging day with Rhiannon highlights the core elements of working with patients in their journey with cancer, its treatment and the multiple challenges that are experienced.
It also provides the opportunity to share directly with other therapists working in the same specialised environment.

This is a 1 day in-person class with Rhiannon taking place at the Royal Marsden Hospital Conference Centre, Stewarts Grove, London SW3 6JJ.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of the program the therapist will be able to:
- Clarify their role as aromatherapist in the specialised setting of acute cancer care.
- Identify the pertinence of aroma-alone techniques and strategies for patient empowerment.
- Discuss the place of aromatherapy in combination with other non-pharmacological interventions for optimal patient support.
- Offer evidence-based aromatic strategies for management of core symptoms linked to the experience of cancer or its treatment.
- Propose appropriate aromatic interventions for a range of commonly encountered challenges in acute cancer care.
