About Rhiannon
Rhiannon is the director of Essential Oil Resource Consultants.
She is a practising aromatherapist, educator, author, conference organiser and host of the professional online International Clinical Aromatherapy Network (ICAN).
Her initial aromatherapy studies began in the UK in 1989 and were further deepened over the years in the USA and France, where she has been living since 1997.
A former nurse, Rhiannon’s effective teaching style and passion for making an aromatic difference at the bedside of sick patients has taken her all over the world as a speaker at conferences and as facilitator of numerous advanced clinical aromatherapy programs, both online and in-person.
She is an initiator of several important advances in the clinical aromatherapy world including the introduction of personalised aromatherapy inhalers in settings such as cancer and palliative care.

Rhiannon is the host and organiser of the Botanica and the Essence of Clinical Aromatherapy (ECA) conference series.
ECA has its origins at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London and specialises in providing excellence in education for the clinical aromatherapy field and has been running since 2017.
The Botanica conference series specialises in connecting the phytotherapy and aromatherapy worlds in a large international event that celebrates plant medicine and has been running since 2012.
She is also the creator of the International Clinical Aromatherapy Network (ICAN).
Fostering meaningful and fruitful connections between professional aromatherapists, health care professionals and those who provide services and supplies to the international aromatherapy community is behind many of Rhiannon’s endeavours.
In 2021 she created ICAN in order to provide a safe professional space for professionals involved in essential oil use, aromatherapy education, aromatherapy delivery and aromatherapy services/ supplies. This unique network is independent of aromatherapy school or organisation affiliations
Rhiannon’s contributions and deep dedication to the field of aromatherapy have not gone unnoticed.
In 2000, she was made a Fellow of the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists (GB), in 2009, she received an Outstanding Achievement award from the Alliance of International Aromatherapists (USA) and in 2019, she received the Lifetime Achievement award from the same organization.
She is also a scientific committee member of several structures within France including the Gattefossé Foundation, Phyt’Arom Grasse and AromaDays (Cosmed).
Rhiannon is bilingual (English and French).
Rhiannon lives with her husband and an assortment of animals tucked away in the mountains of Provence and continues her aromatherapy work within her local community.
As a Nature lover, Rhiannon delights in the outdoors and has a keen interest in capturing photos of the plants and vistas of her region.
