This one-day in-person class taking place on Thursday 25th February 2027 is suitable for aromatherapists seeking to extend their knowledge, improve their skills and increase their confidence in working with patients experiencing skin challenges related to their disease, its treatment or other factors.
A range of skin complaints that are commonly encountered in clinical settings (hospital, hospice, residential care…) will be addressed.
Taking an evidence based and pragmatic approach, this class promotes maximum therapeutic effectiveness using essential oils and related products including vegetable oils and hydrolats

There are a number of reasons why the skin is an important target for a range of inflammatory and infective triggers in cancer and palliative care. Compromised skin is often a factor that limits treatment dose and duration.
With a sensitive and evidence based approach, the aromatherapist can help promote skin integrity and provide relief and comfort for a range of common complaints in the cancer and palliative environment.
This one-day class with Rhiannon presents clear patient-centered aromatic approaches to working safely and effectively with individuals with a range of skin challenges.
She will demonstrate how, with careful assessment, pertinent choices and sensitive applications of essential oils and related products, clinical aromatherapy has a valued place in promoting and maintaining skin integrity.

This is a one day in-person class with Rhiannon taking place at the Royal Marsden Hospital Conference Centre, Stewarts Grove, London SW3 6JJ.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of the program the therapist will be able to:
- Identify common skin challenges faced by patients with cancer or a terminal disease diagnosis.
- Propose a range of evidence-based aromatic strategies adapted to specific skin challenges.
- Explore the role of different bases suitable for skin care including hydrolats, vegetable and infused oils.
- Increase confidence in formulating safely and effectively with persons experiencing a range of dermatological complaints.
